Day-by-day itinerary
DAY 1 – Watamu to Tsavo East
6:00 AM – Pick-up from Watamu
Early morning pick-up from your hotel in Watamu.
Meet your driver-guide and begin the journey towards Tsavo East National Park.
6:00 AM – 10:00 AM – Drive to Tsavo East
Travel inland through the changing coastal landscape towards the park.
The exact arrival time depends on the route, road conditions and your chosen park gate.
10:00 AM – Enter Tsavo East
Enter the park and begin your first game drive.
Keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo and other wildlife.
12:30 PM – Lunch at the lodge
Arrive at your lodge or camp.
Have lunch and take some time to relax.
3:30 PM – Afternoon game drive
Head back into the park for an afternoon game drive.
Explore the red-earth landscapes and search for wildlife around waterholes, rivers and open plains.
5:30 PM – Return to the lodge
Return to your lodge or camp before sunset.
Relax and enjoy the evening.
7:30 PM – Dinner and overnight
Dinner at the lodge or camp.
Overnight in Tsavo East.
DAY 2 – Morning Game Drive & Return to Watamu
6:00 AM – Early morning game drive
Leave the lodge early while temperatures are cooler and wildlife is active.
This is one of the best times to look for predators and other animals.
8:30 AM – Breakfast
Return to the lodge for breakfast.
9:30 AM – Final game drive
Leave the lodge and enjoy one final drive through Tsavo East as you make your way towards the park exit.
11:30 AM – Leave Tsavo East
Exit the park and begin the journey back to Watamu.
1:00 PM – Lunch
Stop for lunch during the journey, depending on the agreed itinerary.
3:00-4:00 PM – Arrive in Watamu
Drop-off at your hotel.
End of safari.
Total duration: 2 days / 1 night.
