Who we are

Caroline Okong’o is a business advisor with a strong record of delivering impact at scale in the financial services and consulting industries. She is the Co-Founder and Partner at Sustainus Advisory Limited, a women-owned sustainability practice, and the Executive Director of Augmentum Advisory Solutions, a Kenya-based advisory firm providing leadership support, coaching, and mentoring.

Before launching Augmentum, Ms. Okong’o held senior risk and finance roles at UAP Life Assurance Limited, Deloitte East Africa, and Willis Management. She has supported diverse, multi-cultural teams and clients spanning the United States, the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa. Ms. Okong’o is a seasoned board director with Independent Non-Executive Director experience with financial services leaders, such as KCB Bank Kenya and Uganda, and Prudential Life Kenya. She is also a Board Member of WWF Kenya and has served as a Board Advisor to FSD Africa, a nonprofit funded by FCDO that promotes financial sector development across Africa. She previously served as Vice President of the Association of Women Accountants Kenya.

She holds a B.A. in Building Economics from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) and Certified Professional Coach accredited by the International Coaching Federation. Caroline is a Chartered Director, holding a Diploma and Certificate in Company Direction.

As the Regional Director at Hill+Knowlton Strategies/Burson, Sam is responsible for strategic communication planning, public relations counsel, and implementation of plans and programmes across 17 African operations.

He currently heads the H+K financial practice which is a venture between H+K Strategies and Buchanan one of the world’s leading financial communications consultancies.

H+K Financial addresses the growing demand for world class financial communications and investor relations services in Middle East and Africa as companies seek to raise their profiles and gain access to international capital markets. He brings deep insight into the media and PR landscape from various markets in the continent.

His previous stint at Ogilvy PR saw him work with some of the leading multinational and local brands such as Coca-Cola, Nokia, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Unilever, Reckitt Benckiser, Uchumi, Kenya Airways, and the Government of Kenya amongst others. Over the last 9 years, Sam has developed and facilitated Media and Crisis Communications training for Brands in the region – Airtel, Chevron, Barclays Bank, VTTI, Rendezvous group, Coca-Cola, Cisco, Nestle.

I have held a life-long commitment towards contributing to seeking out root causes of global crises, and to participating in the delivery of sustainable solutions geared towards strengthening resilience among vulnerable populations.

As a humanitarian-aid worker I have garnered a successful track record in project operations management spanning 4 continents over two decades, primarily in resource-constrained contexts where the absence of formal infrastructure requires innovative approaches to resource mobilisation, and to the deployment of operations.

2015 saw me broaden the scope of my career to include sustainable development, culminating in my current occupation as an independent management consultant specialising in operational strategy design and project management for social impact ventures.
