Tour Plan

Day 1 — Fly to Tsavo East

Your safari begins with a morning flight from Watamu, Malindi, Diani, Mombasa, or Nairobi.

As the aircraft lifts, the coastline or city fades, replaced by open wilderness below.

You land on a remote airstrip inside Tsavo East National Park, where your guide is waiting. The safari begins immediately with a game drive en route to camp.

Tsavo East reveals itself slowly — wide plains, dust-red elephants, giraffes crossing open ground, and predators moving through the heat shimmer.

After lunch and a short rest, you head out again for an afternoon game drive, following rivers and waterholes as the day cools.

Overnight: Tsavo East
Highlight: Arrival by air & first immersion into vast wilderness

Day 2 — Tsavo East to Tsavo West (By Air)

After an early breakfast, you transfer to the airstrip for a short flight across the Tsavo ecosystem.

From above, the landscape changes — red plains give way to volcanic hills, lava flows, and dense vegetation.

Upon landing in Tsavo West, a game drive leads you through rugged terrain toward your lodge. This park feels more dramatic and intimate, shaped by ancient geology and natural springs.

After lunch and rest, the afternoon drive explores highlights such as lava fields, rolling hills, and wildlife corridors where elephants and buffalo move between feeding grounds.

Overnight: Tsavo West
Highlight: Dramatic landscapes and volcanic scenery

Day 3 — Fly to Amboseli

This morning, you take a scenic flight south toward Amboseli National Park.

As you descend, Mount Kilimanjaro rises into view — vast, calm, and unmistakable.

Your guide meets you on arrival and leads a game drive toward camp, often passing elephant families moving across the open plains.

After lunch and downtime, the afternoon game drive focuses on Amboseli’s famous swamps and open areas, where wildlife gathers against the backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain.

As the sun sets, Kilimanjaro’s silhouette anchors the horizon.

Overnight: Amboseli
Highlight: Elephants beneath Mount Kilimanjaro

Day 4 — Amboseli & Departure

An early morning game drive captures Amboseli at its most serene — cool air, soft light, and animals moving freely across the plains.

After breakfast, you transfer to the airstrip for your return flight to the coast or Nairobi, bringing the safari to a smooth, unhurried close.

Useful Tips

  • Pack light.
Soft-sided bags are required on light aircraft. Keep luggage within weight limits to ensure smooth flights.
  • Dress in layers.
Early mornings and flights can be cool, while midday game drives are warm. Light layers work best.
  • Neutral colors matter.
Khaki, beige, olive, and earth tones blend well during game drives and are practical for wildlife viewing.
  • Camera essentials.
Bring spare batteries and memory cards. Power access at camps may be limited or scheduled.
  • Be ready for early departures.
Flights and game drives often start early — this is when wildlife activity is at its best.
  • Expect flexible timing.
Safari flights operate on bush schedules. Slight adjustments may occur due to weather or park conditions.
  • Leave hard cases behind.
Hard-shell suitcases are not suitable for light aircraft storage.
  • Listen to your guide.
Guides coordinate closely with pilots and lodges — their timing ensures seamless transitions.
  • Travel documents on hand.
Keep your ID or passport accessible during airstrip transfers.
  • Relax into the flow.
Air safaris remove distance — let the experience unfold without rushing or expectations tied to the clock.
