Safari Itinerary

DAY 1

7:00am Pick-up from your hotel.

9:30am Park entry.

10:00am to 12:00pm Morning safari.

12:00pm Check-in at the lodge.

1:00pm Lunch at the lodge (included).

2:00 to 3:30pm Rest time, pool, terrace, waterhole watching.

3:30 to 6:30pm Afternoon safari, Aruba Dam, the Galana River, golden hour light.

6:30pm Back at the lodge, sundowner on the terrace.

7:30pm Dinner at the lodge (included).

Overnight Optional night waterhole viewing.

DAY 2

5:45am Wake-up, coffee/tea.

6:00 to 9:30am Sunrise safari, three and a half hours to take in the wildlife.

9:30am Back at the lodge.

9:45am Bush breakfast at the lodge (included).

10:30am Check-out.

11:00am Depart Tsavo East.

12:30 to 2:30pm Arrival at your hotel.

  • A camera with a long zoom lens
  • A refillable water bottle
  • Swimwear, if your lodge has a pool

Good to Know

Children: welcome from age 7. The overnight pace works well for families.

Waterhole at night: ask the lodge staff to wake you if elephants show up after midnight. Most lodges will do this on request.

Extending to 3 days: a second night adds a full extra day of game drives. Just ask us about the 3 day option.

Tsavo East vs Tsavo West: East is bigger, drier and more open, great for large herds. West is greener and more varied, great for Mzima Springs and the rhinos.
